In his real estate law practice, Toby enjoys advising his clients and referral partners on the legal issues that arise in the context of buying or selling a house or condominium. Toby will be happy to assist you in smoothly closing a purchase, sale or refinancing transaction. Toby also offers his clients pre-signing review of agreements of purchase and sale.

In his business law practice, Toby advises his clients on a wide range of issues from corporate formation and business structuring, to ongoing commercial matters and corporate transactions. Whether you are involved in a start-up or an established business, Toby’s experience in corporate and commercial law matters will serve you well.

Prior to forming Scott & Down LLP, Toby worked for several years at one of Canada’s largest law firms, Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. While at Blakes, Toby advised foreign and domestic clients on corporate transactional matters.

In addition to his legal experience, Toby has acted as a senior advisor to the Honourable Harinder S. Takhar, Ontario’s Minister of Government Services.

Toby received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours with Distinction) from the University of Toronto and his law degree from the University of British Columbia.
